VITALIC:
It's been a while, i know, i'm sorry! The reason i haven't been updating the blog lately is, that i was getting extremely irritated at the amount of posts being removed (DMCA).
So, to the sole purpose of this website, MUSIC goddammit...
Listening to alot of Vitalic lately, what a genius, here is a few tunes not featured elsewhere, i think. So enjoy...

Bangers & MashUps

THE MASHUPS:
First Mashup artist is new enough, i presume, to the scene, MoneyTalk. Not much on his MySpace except that he's Irish (Which is a bonus). Also that he emailed me with the two tracks below, one of which is not on his page. I liked the first one alot, which is what inspired me to do a MashUp post.
Then a couple of kick-ass tracks from the well known A Plus D. The male/female duo from san francisco, Creators & DJs of Bootie USA, the only MashUp night to be at.
MSTRKRFT / Stardust - Music Sounds Better In Paris (MoneyTalk Remix) (Alt)
Kathy Diamond / Eminem - All Woman / Shake That (MoneyTalk Remix) (Alt)
Walter Murphy / Kanye West - Beethoven's Fifth Gold Digger (A Plus D Remix) (Alt)
Elastica / The Gossip - Standing In The Way Of Connection (A Plus D Remix) (Alt)

What Is A Shadow Dancer?

SHADOW DANCER:
The English Farrier Brothers. These guys, are one of my new favourite acts! I've been aware of them, but after I picked up the Soap 12" a couple of weeks ago, I can't get enough of thier madness. Also, cannot wait to get my hands on their upcoming debut album, 'Golden Traxe'.
For the tracks, their specially made track for the Boys Noize compilation, and the main track from their self-titled EP. Two wicked tunes in their own right, Enjoy...

The, Not So Japanese, Popstars

THE JAPANESE POPSTARS:
So, it's been a while since ive put anything, but im back, so to start of the tunage, the legendary Japstars...
Three guys, Gary Curran, Gareth Donoghue & Declan McLaughlin. Hands down my favourite act in a long time!!! Maybe the fact that they are Irish may have an effect, but you cannot deny that they are fucking unreal...
Every remix they have put out sounds nothing like the song their working on, which I think is class. Already two Singles, an EP, and an Album under their belts, the trio have been getting rave reviews from some of the most influential people in the music industry.
Now I have seen that a good few of the blogs have been putting up their main tunes, basically all the big killers, so i decided to do the following: Recently I stumbled on a link to a stream of their live set from Oxegen (Recorded by RTE Ireland), and after listening to it i was disappointed in the quality... So i recorded it, improved the sound level (still not perfect though), and split the tracks so as to appropriately label them! This is the end result:
Live at Oxegen:
1. Sample Whore
2. Gas Face (Japanese Popstars Remix)
3. Yo Jay (Japanese Popstars Remix)
4. Electronic Poet
5. F19b (Droppin Bombs) / So Shock'In (Acapella)
6. Get Down (Japanese Popstars Remix)
7. Face Melter
8. Delboys Revenge
9. Anthepic (We Have Taken Over)
10. Rise Of Ulysses
**[Edit:: If you have downloaded the set, change track 3 from 'Yo Jay' to 'Uurrat Ta Ta Tat Ta Tat'... I was confused first between the 3th and 4th track, sorry all!!! p.s. If anyone has the remix of Yo Jay, would appreciate alot...]**
I have it all as a rar file, if you would like i will put them up individualy also, enjoy... (PS above are just 60/90 second samples embedded)

So yes, I have not been posting in a bit because, about a week ago i was DJing some party, and some stupid c**t launched a drink across a room and covered my keyboard. I didnt really have the opportunity to switch everything of and dry etc,

Bring Tha Noize, Boys!!!

BOYS NOIZE RECORDS:
My final post on record labels, and i really did leave the best 'til last. The label of labels in my opinion, at least at the moment, and their recent compilation marked that...
Alex Ridha, his productions, remixes and collaborations can and will always keep me entertained... Other notable artists on the label include D.I.M., Les Petits Pilous, Strip Steve, Shadow Dancer, Siriusmo & PUZIQUe (of which Ridha is half).
For the tunage, the A-side of the labels very first release, then one from Eastwest (Boys Noize & Housemeister) only release. Third, and final, is one off their more recent releases, enjoy...
Boys Noize - Optic (zshare)
Eastwest - Easy Come Easy Go (zshare)

It Really Is Great Stuff...

GREAT STUFF RECORDINGS:
I first noticed the name Great Stuff Recordings when i got the track 'Fergie - Ireland' off the Great Summer Games Stuff. I then realised (via the standout artwork) that i had already a decent amount of their releases in my library...
I dont have the track Ireland up, but get it if you can. A delightfully named and produced techno track. The tracks are just a handful (three) from their string of releases, enjoy...

RePoSt: Melee Beats Interview
Since my interview was taken down I havent really had anything to post on, so im re-posting this, and then i'll finish my string of posts re: Record Labels...
MELEE BEATS:
INTERVIEW:
1. So, first off, when was it you started dabbling in the art of producing. Also what software / hardware was it you first used?
I started in the Fall of 1998; I was introduced to FLStudio (then called Fruity Loops) by my half-brother. It wasn’t very good at the time, you could only program drum loops, but it kept me entertained for quite a while, and I kind of grew with the program.
2. As ive read before, melee beats is the disco of 70's, the synthesis of the 80's and 90's house! Which of those is your favourite era, and, which do you think stands out more in your productions?
Disco, funk, and soul are my favorite, but that’s only what I like to listen to. I love to dance to 80s, and I like to tie it all together with house/electronic beats. I think a lot of each comes through, but predominately there’s a lot of 80s sequencing and sounds. They all correlate somehow, though!
3. Is there anybody, from your childhood to now, that you would love to collaborate with, in any form?
Quincy Jones – his work on the Michael Jackson albums is phenomenal. Or Stevie Wonder for sure.
4. What is on Melee Beats' current playlist at the moment, and, what is the last record/single/mp3 you purchased?
I picked up the CRS/Pusha T remix of N.E.R.D.’s “Everyone Nose” and have been rotating that heavily. It is a little slow for some people, but I think the beat is phenomenal and Lupe Fiasco comes through with an awesome verse. Besides that, the new Soulwax remixes that are coming out are fantastic, MGMT, and DJ Kue’s new remixes are all getting heavy rotation.
5. Who do you think is going to be big in the not so distant future?
Well, we’ve encountered a LOT of gimmicks associated with productions acts, and an onslaught of new-French electro/fidget/whatever. Many people will say that’s the current hot thing, but I honestly think it is declining. It is being overdone and overexaggerated, just like filtered disco was towards the end of its run. I think the electronic crossover bands like Soulwax, !!!, and LCD Soundsystem will lead the next wave of music. It is very hard to say what is currently on the cutting edge, but there will definitely be a shift coming. I have a hard time keeping up!
6. Finally, do you have anything in line for after the release of 'Triumph'?
I am working with my longtime friend and performance DJ Kue for a new club-oriented album that is really going to take people by surprise. There are some restrictions placed upon the Melee Beats title that make it difficult to do some of the things I’m doing on this album; all I can say is that it will be a very, very innovative and listenable club record! I’ve also finished three tracks off of my next album “Hot Damage,” which could be out in the first quarter of 09...

WTF???

DELETION:
Yesterday I received an email from the Blogger DMCA with regard to the post I created with the interview of Melee Beats (now deleted...). So can anyone tell me, what copyrights i've infringed, as I received permission from the man himself??
It's quite a confusing letter, so any help would be cool, just really pissed as i've lost the mp3 links....
